Finding the Hypotenuse of a Right Triangle

Very Easy Geometry Triangles

Consider a triangle where one of the angles measures 90 degrees. This triangle is known as a right triangle. If the lengths of the two legs of the triangle are 6 cm and 8 cm, what is the length of the hypotenuse?

Use the Pythagorean theorem, which states that in a right triangle, the square of the length of the hypotenuse ($c$) is equal to the sum of the squares of the lengths of the other two sides ($a$ and $b$):

$$c^2 = a^2 + b^2$$
