Author's Tone in Lucy's Cat Story

Lucy loved her pet cat, Whiskers. Every morning, as soon as the sun peeked through the curtains, Whiskers would jump onto Lucy's bed and purr loudly, asking for breakfast. Lucy would giggle, throw off her covers, and feed Whiskers his favorite salmon-flavored crunchies. Whiskers would eat happily with his tail swishing back and forth, making little happy sounds. Lucy always said, ‘Whiskers brings sunshine to my day!’
