Cutting Strings into Pieces

Alex has two types of string: one that measures 3 meters long and another that measures 1.75 meters long. If Alex wants to cut these strings into smaller pieces, each measuring 0.25 meters, how many total pieces can he cut from both strings?

To find the total number of pieces, first calculate how many pieces can be made from each length of string, and then sum both results.
