Farm Animal Relationships

A farmer has a series of pens where he keeps different types of animals: sheep, goats, and cows. Each day, the number of cows is always equal to the sum of the number of sheep and goats in the pens.

The total number of animals in the farm is represented by the equation:

$$ x + y + z = 30 $$

where:

• $$ x $$ = number of sheep
• $$ y $$ = number of goats
• $$ z $$ = number of cows (with the relationship $$ z = x + y $$)
