Finding the Hypotenuse in a Right Triangle

Easy Additional Topics In Math Trigonometry

In a right triangle, one of the angles measures $30^{ ext{o}}$. If the length of the side opposite this angle is 5 units, what is the length of the hypotenuse of the triangle? Use the sine function, where for an angle $ heta$, the sine is defined as the ratio of the length of the side opposite the angle to the length of the hypotenuse.

Using the formula:

$$ ext{sine}( heta) = rac{ ext{opposite}}{ ext{hypotenuse}}$$

determine the hypotenuse.
