Identifying Study Preferences in a Student Dialogue

Medium Connecting Information Connecting Ideas

Listen to the following conversation between a student and a classmate discussing study habits.

Student 1: I've recently started studying in the library instead of my dorm room. It really helps me focus.

Student 2: That's interesting! I usually find it difficult to study in the library because it's so quiet. I prefer having some background noise.

Student 1: I get that! But I feel that when it's too quiet, I can really concentrate better on my work.

Student 2: You know, I think it really depends on the person. Some people thrive in silence, while others need a bit of distraction to stay engaged.

Student 1: Exactly! I also think that studying at different times can make a difference, too.

Student 2: For sure! Personally, I like to study at night when everyone else is asleep. It feels like I have the whole world to myself.

Note: This question has been adapted from its original format to accommodate a reading-based version. In the official TOEFL exam, speaking and listening sections require verbal responses and audio prompts, which are not represented here. Please note that this adaptation may not fully reflect the nature or difficulty of the official exam. The audio feature for these sections will be available soon.
