Identifying the Tone of Oliver the Owl

Hard Author's Purpose And Tone Author's Tone

The following passage is an excerpt from a children's story about a wise old owl who teaches young animals about kindness:

In the heart of the forest, where sunlight streams through the treetops, there lived a wise old owl named Oliver. Oliver was known for his deep, thoughtful eyes and calm demeanor. Every evening, the young animals gathered at the base of his grand oak tree, eager to hear his stories about kindness. 'Kindness,' he would say, 'is like a gentle breeze that can make the heaviest hearts feel light.' His words danced in the air like fireflies, illuminating the minds of those who listened. The animals left with a warm feeling in their hearts, inspired to be kinder to one another.

This particular evening, Oliver gazed at the gathering and began, 'Tonight, I want to share with you the tale of a little rabbit who learned that even the smallest act of kindness can create a ripple of joy. When Bella the rabbit found a fallen bird's nest on the ground, she didn't hesitate. With tender care, she gathered the eggs and placed them gently back in the tree. This simple act of kindness not only saved the little birds but also brought the forest animals closer together.' Throughout his stories, Oliver’s tone was always gentle and uplifting, encouraging his listeners to see the beauty in kindness.
