Inference about Maria's Feelings on Rain

Maria looked outside her window and saw rain pouring down in thick sheets. She grabbed her umbrella and put on her raincoat before heading out for the day. Once outside, she noticed how the raindrops created small rivers along the sidewalk, making it difficult for people to walk without splashing water everywhere. Maria smiled as she watched one dog happily leap around in the puddles.

As she walked down the street, she saw that many people had chosen to stay indoors, leaving the streets quite empty. The few people who were out were either huddled under their umbrellas or running quickly to find shelter.
