In a small town nestled between two mountain ranges, there existed a peculiar tradition. Every spring, the townspeople would gather at the base of the tallest mountain to witness the ancient ritual of the ‘Purification Fire’. It was said that the fire, lit using wood from the sacred trees at the mountain's summit, would cleanse the community of any misfortune from the past year. As the elders lit the fire, they recounted tales of courage and unity, reminding everyone of their shared experiences. However, not everyone believed in the ritual’s significance; some younger residents mocked it, claiming it was merely superstition.

One year, a severe drought struck the town, leading to tensions among the residents. During the time leading up to the ceremony, a rift grew between those who upheld the tradition and those who questioned its value. On the day of the Purification Fire, the townspeople were filled with both anticipation and skepticism. As the flames flickered, a hush fell over the gathering. Spectators observed not just the fire but also each other, gauging the collective faith that had brought them together.

Later that evening, after the ritual, a light rain began to fall, signaling the end of the drought. Some residents interpreted this as a direct result of the ceremony, while others remained unconvinced.
