Purpose of Professor's Advice in Student Presentation

Very Hard Pragmatic Understanding Purpose Of Speech

Listen to the following conversation between a student and a professor discussing an upcoming project presentation.

Student: Professor Kim, I wanted to talk to you about my project presentation scheduled for next week. I've been thinking about how to effectively present my findings. I really want to engage the audience and get them to think critically about the topic.

Professor: That’s a great initiative! One effective way to achieve that is by incorporating questions throughout your presentation. It can stimulate engagement and prompt discussion. Also, consider using visual aids to support your key points; they can help convey your message more clearly.

Student: Thank you! I also thought about including some recent case studies. Do you think that would help illustrate my points?

Professor: Absolutely! Case studies are an excellent way to contextualize your findings. Just make sure to relate them back to your main argument. It shows that you’ve done your research and are able to think critically about the information presented.

Student: I appreciate your input. I feel more confident about approaching this now!

Note: This question has been adapted from its original format to accommodate a reading-based version. In the official TOEFL exam, speaking and listening sections require verbal responses and audio prompts, which are not represented here. Please note that this adaptation may not fully reflect the nature or difficulty of the official exam. The audio feature for these sections will be available soon.
