"In the town of Conventional Wisdom, the council had enacted a new law mandating that all citizens must attend at least one public debate per month. They believed this would encourage civic engagement and inform the populace. However, attendance records showed that citizens only visited for the free snacks provided, and debates devolved into competitions for the best dramatic expressions rather than constructive dialogue. The council, oblivious to the true motivation behind the attendance, celebrated their success with a grand feast, completely unaware of the irony that they had fostered a spectacle that lacked genuine discourse."
