During the last few weeks of the school year, Marcus had been preparing for the school play, which was to be performed in front of parents and teachers. He was excited but also a little nervous. After months of rehearsals, the day finally arrived. The auditorium was buzzing with energy as students rushed to get into their costumes. Marcus noticed that some of his friends seemed anxious, while others were confidently chatting away. As the curtain was about to rise, Marcus thought about how important this performance was and how proud everyone would be if they succeeded.
Just as the play started, the lights dimmed, and the audience went silent. Marcus, playing the lead role, stepped out onto the stage. He could see his parents in the front row, smiling and cheering him on. However, he recalled the last rehearsal when one of the actors had forgotten their lines, which delayed the performance. The thought crossed his mind that this could happen again.
