Understanding 'Darted' in Context

At the edge of the park, there was a small pond where children often came to feed the ducks. As they approached, they noticed that some of the ducks were quacking loudly, while others were quietly paddling around. One child, excited by the lively scene, exclaimed, ‘Look how they are frolicking about!’ This made the others laugh, as the ducks seemed to be having a wonderful time splashing around in the water.

That day, the sun shone brightly, and the atmosphere was filled with joy.
