Understanding Max's Birthday Sequence

Max had an exciting day planned for his birthday. First, he woke up to find a surprise party waiting for him in the living room. His family had decorated the house with balloons and streamers. After opening his gifts, he enjoyed a delicious breakfast made by his mom. Later in the afternoon, he and his friends went to the arcade, where they played games and had a great time.
