Understanding Project Requirements

Easy Connecting Information Connecting Ideas

Listen to the following conversation between a student and a professor:

Student: Good morning, Professor Smith. I wanted to ask you about the project assignment. I’m a bit confused about the requirements.

Professor: Good morning! I’m happy to help. What specifically are you unsure about?

Student: I’m not clear on how many sources we need to include. I thought I heard you say three sources at the last class, but some of my classmates think it’s four.

Professor: Ah, I see. You actually need to include a minimum of four sources. Three is just the bare minimum for certain shorter assignments, but this project requires more depth. You can also use a mix of books, journal articles, and credible websites.

Student: Got it! And when is the final project due?

Professor: The final project is due on the last day of class next month. Just make sure to plan your time well, as the final project should demonstrate a thorough understanding of the material.

Student: Thank you, Professor! That clarifies a lot.

Note: This question has been adapted from its original format to accommodate a reading-based version. In the official TOEFL exam, speaking and listening sections require verbal responses and audio prompts, which are not represented here. Please note that this adaptation may not fully reflect the nature or difficulty of the official exam. The audio feature for these sections will be available soon.
