Understanding Student B's Attitude

Very Hard Pragmatic Understanding Tone And Attitude

Listen to the following conversation between two university students discussing a recent lecture they attended.

Student A: I really thought the guest speaker was insightful, although some of his examples felt a bit outdated.

Student B: I agree. He had some interesting points, but I couldn’t help but feel like he was overly critical of current trends. It made me a little uncomfortable, to be honest.

Student A: I get that. But I think he did it to challenge our thinking, you know? It’s good to be pushed out of our comfort zones.

Student B: True, but we also need to embrace the innovations happening right now, not just his perspective from years ago.

What is Student B’s attitude toward the guest speaker's implications?

Note: This question has been adapted from its original format to accommodate a reading-based version. In the official TOEFL exam, speaking and listening sections require verbal responses and audio prompts, which are not represented here. Please note that this adaptation may not fully reflect the nature or difficulty of the official exam. The audio feature for these sections will be available soon.
