A college student, Emma, is discussing with her friend Jake about a lecture they attended on climate change. She says:
"I really found the lecture fascinating! The speaker had such a unique way of presenting the information, especially when he illustrated the impact of rising sea levels with those astounding visuals. It was eye-opening to think about how many coastal cities might be underwater in just a few decades. But, I must say, I felt a bit overwhelmed at the end. It’s a lot to digest, and I can't help but feel anxious about our future if we don’t take action soon."
After Emma shares her thoughts, Jake responds: "It is indeed alarming. But I think awareness is the first step toward change, right? I appreciate how passionate the speaker was, even if it was a bit daunting. But I wonder how many people will actually take action. Sometimes it feels like the information just goes over people's heads. Still, I’m glad we attended; it really got me thinking!"
