Valuation of Emotional Intelligence in Education

Reading Passage: While the intellect often receives praise as the pinnacle of human ability, emotional intelligence (EI) has emerged as a critical counterpart. Emotional intelligence is defined as the ability to recognize, understand, and manage one’s own emotions, as well as the ability to recognize, understand, and influence the emotions of others. Research indicates that individuals with high EI may excel in various domains, including leadership and interpersonal relations. However, despite its significance, EI often remains undervalued in traditional educational settings.
