Continuity and Change in American Society (1865-1920)

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the United States underwent significant economic, political, and social changes due to industrialization, urbanization, and immigration. However, certain aspects of American society displayed remarkable continuity despite these transformations.

Using the documents provided and your knowledge of U.S. history, analyze the ways in which American society changed and continued to stay the same between 1865 and 1920. In your response, include at least one specific example for each of the aspects of continuity and change that you identify.
