They divided the rats into four groups: Group 1 received no lead exposure, Group 2 was exposed to low levels of lead, Group 3 to moderate levels of lead, and Group 4 to high levels of lead. After a month, the researchers conducted a series of cognitive tests, including maze tests and memory recalls, to assess the effects of lead exposure.

The results showed a clear trend in cognitive performance across the groups. Group 1 had the highest test scores, followed by Group 2, while Group 3 showed a significant reduction in performance, and Group 4 had the lowest scores of all.
